PRESS RELEASE-TASTE OF CHAPPAQUA

Contact Rob@chappaqua-millwoodchamber.org

Sidewalk Sale days will wrap up with food and music celebration on Saturday, July 21!

Our three-day Sidewalk Sale event — Thursday July 19 through Saturday July 21 — culminates in culinary celebration, with local restaurants showing off for our 1st Annual Taste of Chappaqua, sponsored by the Chappaqua-Millwood Chamber of Commerce.  Food establishments — both old favorites and new-comers — will provide samples of their delectable food on Saturday, July 21, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Taste of Chappaqua will also feature three contests — Best Dessert, Best Pizza and Best Sandwich — judged by shoppers and passers-by from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. as they visit the participating food merchant booths.

Scorecards will be available at each of the tasting tables. Contestants will be scored based on presentation, taste and creativity. One winner will be chosen in each of the three categories. We’ll announce the winners at an awards ceremony at 4:00 p.m. at the Chamber table near Desires by Mikolay, where ribbons will be awarded.

And since this event coincides with Sidewalk Sale Days, there will be games, giveaways and great shopping! The Chamber of Commerce will have a table giving away balloons, car magnets and informational materials about the Chamber and its mission to create a vibrant business district.
And what’s a party without music?
Amble down to the gazebo for a free concert from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. by the kids from Renaissance Education, Music & Sports. From their home in the Bronx, the band travels all over the area with make-you-wanna dance, inspirational songs.  On Saturday, you’ll find the kids in two’s and three’s, positioned around the downtown, serenading us before their 12:30 p.m. concert.
