Horace Greeley was an American newspaper editor, a founder of the Liberal Republican Party, a reformer, a politician, and an outspoken opponent of slavery. He died on November 29, 1872. The Greeley home in Chappaqua, New York now houses the New Castle Historical Society.

  1. I just spent a few days in Washington D.C. and visited the Smithsonian Portrait Museum. There was a great portrait and sculpture of Horace Greeley among many other memorable Americans. Take a look if you get to D.C., it was a great museum.
