Every year Chappaqua’s Horace Greeley High School presents its Senior Musical. This year, the seniors will present Legally Blonde, The Musical on April 3rd, April 4th and April 5th. We are thrilled to offer this production written by one of our own Greeley grads, Laurence O’Keefe (1989). On March 2nd, Mr. O’Keefe, composer of Legally Blonde and Batboy: The Musical, visited Greeley to discuss his latest project, Heathers: The Musical. O’Keefe, along with his co-writers, collaborators, and cast members of Heathers, discussed the process of mounting a new production, as well as previewing numbers from his new show opening in NYC later in March. As an added bonus, members of our own Legally Blonde cast had the opportunity to preview numbers from our show for Mr. O’Keefe.

Over 200 Greeley seniors are participating in this production—our biggest turnout ever! The partnership between the local business community and the Horace Greeley High School is an integral part of this event. The Senior Musical is performed 4 times to sell-out crowds and seen by over 2,000 people in the Chappaqua community. The profits from the musical will go to fund scholarships provided by the Horace Greeley Scholarship Fund (HGSF). The HGSF is a not-for-profit grant providing organization that helps Greeley students fund their college educations by filling the gap between the actual cost of tuition and living expenses and whatever other financial aid and loans are available to them. The Greeley PTA is an integral part of this volunteer run production and has recently joined the Chappaqua Chamber of Commerce to facilitate the partnership between the local merchants, the PTA and the Scholarship Fund.

Concessions will make a big splash this year as we welcome our audience into “Elle’s Sweet Shop.” A pink extravaganza selling artisanal baked goods, pink candy, flowers and adorable toy Bruisers (Elle’s Chihuahua from the show). Concessions will be set up like an old-fashioned candy shop. T-shirts and DVDs will also be available for sale.

Tickets are on sale now at our online box office on the Greeley homepage http://hg.ccsd.ws/ or the following link: http://sellingticket.com/hghs. Tickets are going quickly!!

Remember, all profits support the Horace Greeley Scholarship Fund!

Please email greeleyseniormusical2014@gmail.com Attn: Pam Wright if you have any questions or would like further information about the show. Hope to see you there!
